2017 Teacher Workshops

Taking Learning to the Next Level!

Intro to Field Investigations Summer Teacher Workshop
For 4th-8th grade teachers
June 26-29 or July 17-20

Summer Teacher Workshops are back at Trees For Tomorrow – and with a twist! We’ve recreated our workshops to align to NGSS standards and focused on methods to incorporate outdoor field investigations within your own classroom! Learn how to identify tree species, wildlife signs, connect wildlife adaptations to habitats, use a GPS and compass, and more. Connect these skills and teaching strategies to different data gathering and data analysis techniques. You’ll also have the opportunity to practice these skills and techniques within a peer-to-peer setting as these workshops are now geared towards elementary and middle school teachers. At the end of your stay, leave with a lesson plan or unit you created to inspire your incoming students to get outside and explore!

A $50.00 stipend will be given if evidence of your created lesson plan or unit is submitted within the 2017/2018 school year

Cost: $180.00/person. Includes meals, lodging, linens, resources and instruction.
Please bring your own bath towels. Pre-workshop materials will be sent to you at least 30 days prior to the workshop.

Optional undergraduate and graduate credit is offered through University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at additional cost.
