Locals have enjoyed the sweet treat of Maple Syrup every spring for thousands of years. Join Trees for Tomorrow naturalist Todd Starling and learn to make the sweetest treat in the Northwoods.


The Trees for Tomorrow team will lead you step by step through the sugaring process to create your own maple syrup. From identifying and tapping the trees, collecting the sap, to boiling the sap and producing a final product ready for your own stack of steaming hot pancakes.


Cost: $75/person; includes 3 sap collecting kits

Sometimes that can mean not choosing to consume a product that is made using practices that don’t promote sustainability, and sometimes it means changing how you do things so that you start becoming more of an active part of the cycle of life. Our courses are designed for adults and older children.

Increase your self-reliance by building good, nutrient-rich soil through backyard composting. Collecting your yard material and kitchen scraps at home provides the opportunity to build soil for use on plants, vegetables, and flowers indoors and out.


Trees For Tomorrow educators will provide instruction on setting up and using your high quality backyard composter and how to reduce waste, build soil, and increase self-reliance.
